"Then I discovered Traffic Geyser (http://www.TrafficGeyser.com). Within a week my traffic increased to 200 unique visitors a day and the number just keeps climbing."

At first, Vogt was skeptical when he realized Traffic Geyser uses Internet videos to generate its results.

"Like most business people, I felt overwhelmed by the technical aspects of creating video, editing it, formatting it and then the daunting idea of actually submitting it to relevant places. But boy, was I ever surprised!"

Vogt jokes he's one of those technologically-challenged people who got his college science credits by taking courses like "Physics for Poets." However, he's found a user-friendly tool for regular business people in Traffic Geyser.

"It includes a complete, simple course that takes you step by step through the process of creating and submitting videos the easiest way possible," Vogt explains. For example, they are uncomfortable about promoting their companies in the style of typical user-generated YouTube videos. On the other hand, they wonder whether their well-financed productions will seem too slick and out of place in the same arena.

From our perspective, they're completely missing the point. Or they're thinking too inside the box.

The Internet is not television. Online viewers don't have high expectations. They accept a broad range of production values--from a Webcam's grainy fisheye to the professionally composed episodes of their favorite TV shows now streaming online.

They also accept a broad range of content and performances. Internet video viewers are now used to seeing real people on screen, not actors. Tight scripts are nice but we'll tolerate off the cuff as well.

Businesses don't have to change what they're producing to reap benefits from the new video-rich Internet. But they will miss out on a lot of opportunities if they don't broaden their thinking.

For example, there are few companies that would not benefit enormously from producing their own Internet TV shows focusing on their customers' needs and interests. Professional productions are possible for a fraction of what it used to cost and the media buys are, well...non-existent. There are no stations or networks to negotiate with online if you don't want to.

It's a brave new world of marketing online. You don't need a multi-million dollar ad budget or a top 20 ad agency to generate SEO, Website traffic or even brand loyalty. There are so many more affordable, creative ways to use video online than 30-second commercials.

Technorati Tags: SEO, Web traffic, optimization, Internet video, online video, Web videoInfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-14491207430274496752007-02-08T21:46:00.001-08:002007-02-08T21:46:57.448-08:00Internet Videos Boost Website Traffic 60%, Drive Top SEO Results
Summary: Here's more proof Web video can drive visitors and SEO: Online marketer David Frey used Internet videos and the new Traffic Geyser submitter service to increase visitors to his marriage counseling site by more than 60% in three weeks and achieved a #1 Google search ranking for his target keyword phrase.

San Diego, California 92128 – February 8, 2007 – When Internet entrepreneur and small business guru David Frey decided to leverage online video in his marketing, his first attempts didn't go so well.

"My videos looked terrible and they didn't sound too good," Frey explains. Visitors voted for five finalists in recent weeks and Doritos will reveal the results February 4 when it airs the winning spot during the big game.

"Any business can create winning videos and reap the same benefits," claims Rocket Helstrom, co-founder of Traffic Geyser, an online service for companies using video and Web 2.0 elements to promote their products and services. Company sources reveal it will happen later this year. However, some smart businesses already are turning their online videos into dollars.

San Diego, CA 92128 – January 30, 2007 – Recent press reports indicate YouTube will start paying video producers for their work sometime in 2007. It's likely YouTube will run ads at the beginnings of the most popular or "viral" videos and then share the advertising revenues with the video producers.

But savvy marketers have been using YouTube and other top video sites for months to generate Website traffic for their online businesses and to convert visitors into buyers once they get there.

"These producers are already getting paid for their videos – in the form of increased leads and sales," says Michael Koenigs, co-founder of the Internet Infomercial Toolkit and Traffic Geyser, two programs companies use to ramp up their online video marketing.

Take Joel Comm, for example. A seasoned Internet marketer and New York Times bestselling business author of "Cracking the AdSense Code," Comm used online video marketing for the first time in a major product launch last fall. The results? He experienced his highest conversion rate in 12 years of online promotions and generated record sales.

(Click here to watch Joel Comm's video infomercial.)

(Click here to watch Joel Comm's analysis of his video campaign.)

Or, how about David Frey? Another highly successful Internet marketer and founder of Marketing Best Practices, Frey increased traffic to his MarriageAdvice.com Website by more than 60% in less than three weeks using online video.

(Follow this link to watch David Frey's video case study.)

Despite these benefits, businesses don't pay to run their video spots on YouTube – or any of the other sites for that matter. They produce three-to five-minute ads or infomercials and pay nothing for hosting, playing or even streaming them to their own Website pages.

"Getting people to watch them depends on the keywords you include in the video titles and descriptions and how popular or competitive those keywords are," Koenigs adds. Video sites like YouTube are so popular the search engines are constantly indexing them, so results can appear overnight – literally.

However, if a video suddenly appears in the top results for a given keyword or phrase, it can be a challenge keeping it there. That's why it's important to frequently produce and upload new videos for your business.

Koenigs explains, "It's simple. Once a business gets started with online video marketing, the traffic and conversions are what keep them going."InfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-28580682888925952782007-01-31T17:55:00.000-08:002007-01-31T17:56:39.314-08:00How to Use Social Bookmarking Sites to Generate TrafficWhat's a social bookmarking site?

It's an online community of Web users who store and share their bookmarks. Instead of (or in addition to) bookmarking pages in their own browsers, (e.g., articles, blog entries, etc. they find interesting), they "TAG" these pages and create entries in the social bookmarking site.

Because the social bookmarking sites are Web-based, the tags or bookmarks are available for them from any computer online—sort of like your Web-based email account is available to you from work, home, when you travel, etc.

In addition, users CATEGORIZE their bookmarks so others can browse or find ones that interest them. Many of these sites also allow users to "discuss" tagged articles by posting COMMENTS about them. Then the most popular tags appear higher in the categories.

What does this mean to you and your Website traffic?

If you join some social bookmarking sites, you can tag your Web pages, press releases, blog entries and VIDEOS to generate more traffic to them.

In fact, we've just added a feature to Traffic Geyser that tags your video title, description, thumbnail image and target Web using your social bookmarking accounts so you get additional traffic to your target Web page. "But the incredible popularity of YouTube, Yahoo video and the other top video sites draws a lot of search engine attention, which carries over to the videos they host—especially those that are properly optimized then tagged by social bookmarking sites."

Jack Corn of Donations Travel (www.DonationsTravel.com/info), a cause fundraising service, read the writing on the wall and quickly ramped up his Internet video marketing. "We bought some affordable equipment and software and started producing promo videos. With Traffic Geyser, it's a snap to distribute and tag them."

The second question business owners ask is, "How do we do it?" Sousa and Traffic Geyser co-founders Michael Koenigs and Rocket Helstrom reveal the answers in a series of video clips beginning with one titled "Why Do Search Engines Love Video So Much?"

To access the clips, visit this page:

http://www.trafficgeyser.com/search_engines.html

Contact Michael Koenigs, Rocket Helstrom or Frank Sousa for more insights to this topic. Listible.com is an example of a social bookmarking site. It allows you to create or add to lists of sites or items, which are organized around topics like "Toolbar Plugins for Power Firefox Users" or "Best Movies of All Time."

Here I created a list "Marketing Planning 2007" and listed the four videos I created from my brief interview with Ann DeVere, the Marketing Blueprint Developer and posted on Google Video. The Slideshow Creator lets Traffic Geyser members create videos WITHOUT a camera. It "marries" audio files (.mp3 or .wav) with images into uploadable videos. To see examples of what I mean, check out these four promotional videos I did for Ann DeVere's Richest Niche Program:

How to Find Your Most Profitable Customer
Where to Find Your Most Profitable Customer
How to Reach Your Most Profitable Customer
How to Use the Exact Words That Will Appeal to Your Most Profitable Customer

I developed a short interview with Ann--four questions--called her and recorded the interview using an inexpensive device from Radio Shack. (You can also use free online services to record audio files with your telephone.) Then I added some images I created in Photoshop, got some free clip art images online and I had four short videos I could upload to the top 30+ video sites to drive traffic to her sales page.
InfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-1161888522577290152006-10-26T11:47:00.000-07:002006-10-26T12:07:09.026-07:00Sample Video From Google Video on Cancer TreatmentThis is a great video about a facility that treats all sorts of cancers.

Name

Email

InfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-1156203175672053882006-08-21T16:30:00.000-07:002006-08-21T16:41:46.050-07:00Internet Marketer Frank Sousa Triples his Sales with Internet Infomercials!Frank learned how to make his first Internet Infomercial in just one day.

In a single week, he doubled his opt-in ratios and tripled his sales

To see his video and gain access to a free audio recording that describes how he did it, go here:

http://coolwebtips.com/video/interview.htmlInfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-1148536892835085532006-05-24T22:54:00.000-07:002006-11-22T16:43:17.116-08:00Online Commercials Make Their Debut on Google Adwords as InfomercialToolkit.com Founders Aim to Satisfy Internet Marketing's Conversion Craving
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Online Commercials Make Their Debut on Google Adwords as InfomercialToolkit.com Founders Aim to Satisfy Internet Marketing's Conversion Craving by Teaching Non-Technical Computer Users and Marketers How to Make Web Videos That Sell Products and Services Just Like Television Infomercials

SAN DIEGO, CA — MAY 10, 2006 — Michael Koenigs and business partner Robert "Rocket" Helstrom teach entrepreneurs, online marketers, authors and small business owners how to make Internet Infomercials or "Online Commercials" with inexpensive hardware, free software and free web hosting that look like television infomercials at a fraction of the price – starting at $100.

"We're teaching ordinary people how to take their computer, a webcam or digital camcorder, inexpensive lights from a Home Depot store and make their own Internet Infomercials in a few hours. She and her producer shoot the Internet video segments in her New York apartment. None of the segments runs longer than five minutes and many include video submitted by "freelance correspondents"—a euphemism for viewers.

Rocketboom has 250,000 visitors a day and estimates 1.6 million segments were downloaded per week in March, up from 910,000 in February.

Congdon is 24 years old.

So what does all this imply?

1. Internet video is proliferating as fast as we thought it would.

2. It can be monetized faster than we thought it could.

3. Advertising and marketing is rapidly trending toward Internet video.

4. Internet video is a young person's domain.

According to the Business 2.0 article, after Rocketboom leveraged its solid niche audience to earn $40,000 in its commercial auction, it quickly won more advertisers and a deal with TiVo to offer the show to a million broadband subscribers "to snare younger, hipper viewers."

But hold on a minute. Who's to say we once-upon-a-time-20-somethings can't play in this sandbox? The largest consumer market in history is well out of its 20s and it comprises thousands of viable niches. Who do you think are paying for all those broadband Internet connections, now estimated to account for 70 to 75% of all U.S. Internet homes?

The difference between the 20-something Internet video entrepreneurs and the rest of us is that they aren't afraid to just go out and do it. Have you checked out Google video or YouTube or any of the 40+ free online video hosting services lately? Young people are just making videos and putting them out there.

Now, think what you could do with all your knowledge, experience and marketing savvy if you put your excuses and fears aside and just started building an Internet video-based business or incorporating video in your existing online business.

We often hear from Internet marketers about this issue. Their questions go something like: "How can I make Internet videos? I'm 60, balding and have a face that's meant for radio." And our response is usually a battery of questions like:

1. What is your market? People your age? Men your age? Balding men your age?
2. What are you selling?
3. Could you leverage your experience and unpretentiousness to connect with people and let them see how believable and capable you are?
4. Do you have a compelling story to tell?
5. Do you have a sense of humor?

Accentuate the positive and just go out and do it. You can start with a vlog or even a video up on one of the free services. The new technology has no age bias and it's pretty easy to learn. Do you think 40+ new free hosting services would have come online in less than six months if it was prohibitively difficult?

What's stopping you from learning how to make your own Internet videos or infomercials and putting it to work for you?

-------------
Rocket Helstrom and Michael Koenigs are co-creators of the Internet Infomercial Toolkit and the upcoming Internet Video Starter Kit. http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com | info@infomercialtoolkit.comInfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-1147155586872496862006-05-08T23:14:00.000-07:002006-05-08T23:19:46.886-07:00Internet Infomercials 101 Published at LuLu.comWe've just published our first book, "Internet Infomercials 101" at LuLu.com. It's free and in no way do we benefit from you signing up with them.

What's Narrower Than Narrowcasting?

The first one is entitled "As Internet TV Aims at Niche Audiences, the Slivercast Is Born," by Saul Hansell.

You can find the full article at http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com/slivercast.

discusses the two major trends in online video right now: Major media companies moving their programming online and a new phenomenon they call "slivercasting," where individuals and small businesses create video content for niche audiences.

As we've mentioned in several of our reports the increasing ease and affordability of digital video production and the ubiquity of broadband Internet connections are fueling this activity.

New Web specialty video "channels" are popping up focusing on "slivers" of interest--even narrower than the narrowcast channels cable TV delivered--stuff like sailing, vegetarian cooking, horror movies and fine wine.

These developments support our contention that you can produce Internet infomercials for for even small niche markets--something you could never do on broadcast or cable TV.

Film School for the Masses

Next is a story entitled "Online Auteurs Hardly Need to Be Famous," by Richard Siklos.

You can read the full article at http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com/famous.

This is about how user-created online videos and short films are becoming more widespread and consumable. Of course, the Web and media companies are adapting quickly to the trend and trying to figure out how to make money from it.

The story refers to iFilm's recent "Show Us Your Junk" contest and other contests sponsored by online video destinations such as YouTube.com, Metacafe and Al Gore's Current.

The story also references Yahoo's recent shift to user created video content (which we mentioned in our last Internet Video News Digest) and cites the same factors behind these developments as those that drove us to create the Internet Infomercial Toolkit, namely:

The widespread adoption of high-speed connections and

The proliferation of affordable and easy-to-use cameras and software

Another Web Giant Jumps In

Our final story from the New York Times is entitled "Amazon Considering Downloads."

You can find the full article at http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com/amazon.

It reports Amazon.com is in talks with three major Hollywood studios to start a movie and TV show downloading service.

Customers would be able to download feature films and TV shows and burn them to DVDs.

And so it seems another major Internet player has jumped into the Internet video game.

Not to be outdone, Apple also announced this week its first movie available for download through its iTunes service: the Disney Channel original film, "High School Musical," for $9.99.

While that might not be a high-impact title, it sends a signal to Hollywood that Apple already has a movie distribution system in place and is delivering the goods right now.

Until next time....

Do You Have a Question About Internet Video?

Or how about some thoughts on one of the articles in this news digest? We collected and summarized three you might find interesting. If you haven't seen them already, you'll find out:

How Internet videos got Andy Samberg his gig with Saturday Night Live

Why Yahoo hit the pause button on development of two new Web TV shows

What the wireless companies don't want you to know about people's appetites for watching TV on their cell phones

Who Owes His Job to Internet Videos?

The first one is from the most recent issue of Business 2.0 magazine, entitled "Now Serving: The Media Microchunk," by Erick Schonfeld.

You can find the full article at http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com/microchunk.

This article describes how Internet video is exploding and changing the way content is created and distributed online. It illustrates this trend with a story about Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg who actually got hired because of short Internet videos he produced. Saturday Night Live's producers saw them online and recruited him for the show.

These short videos even have a name now -- they're called "microchunks."

And now big media content providers are starting to learn how to create them and make money from them: Comedy Central, MTV, all the major netowrks, AOL and Warner Bros.

Yahoo Rethinks Video Strategy

The second article appeared in a recent issue of the Los Angeles Times. It's called "Shows on Web Have Been More Miss Than Hit," by Chris Gaither.

You can read the full article at http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com/yahoo.

This article is about how Yahoo is rethinking the way it approaches Internet video.

Yahoo hired a TV executive in 2004 named Lloyd Braun from ABC to run its Media Group. Initially, Braun planned to create original video programming -- like TV shows -- for the Web which would be available only through Yahoo.

They actually had a couple new shows in development on which they've now hit the pause button. It seems they're rethinking their approach to Internet video and instead are going to rely on content created by Yahoo users as well as purchase content created by traditional video producers.

Do You Want to Watch TV on Your Cell Phone?

The third article appeared recently on cnet.com. It's called "Cingular Launches New Mobile TV Service," by Marguerite Reardon.

You can find the full article at http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com/cingular.

It's about Cingular's new on-demand mobile TV service called Cingular Video that runs over its new 3G wireless network.

Customers can watch short 3 to 5 minute videos on their cell phones from content providers like Cartoon Network, NBC and ESPN. Cingular has also done deals with HBO Fox News to start providing video clips.

It may be mainly for early adopters right now, though. The article cites a recent survey that says 75% of respondents didn't wish to watch TV over their phones.

But that could change with better content and newer phones so we'll keep an eye on these developments for you.

Until next time...InfomercialToolkit.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10681505572194153961noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22220960.post-1140680238266953962006-02-22T23:35:00.000-08:002006-02-22T23:46:55.173-08:00Broadband Ignites Internet Video Big Bang
San Diego, CA – February 23, 2006 - The Internet video boom is on. It’s no longer just a trend. Some technology media pundits have even dubbed it the "online video Big Bang."

It began with Apple's debut of video downloads through its iTunes service and introduction of the Video iPod in late 2005. In the ensuing months, major Internet players like Google, Yahoo!, Apple and AOL all have either introduced or beefed up video services and struck deals with content giants like Disney, ABC, CBS and NBC.

While video has been online for awhile it has just now reached the tipping point. Once the territory of news organizations, adult sites and, more recently, personal blogs, it is quickly becoming a channel of choice for conveying entertainment and business information.

Broadband Spreads Quickly

Thanks to the rapid widespread adoption of broadband Internet connections at the consumer level, companies are scrambling to find ways to deliver video content using a variety of revenue models including subscriptions, pay-per-download, traditional advertising, relationship-building and integration with other monetized services like Google’s Adsense.

Even small businesses are jumping into the fray.

"The technology has become so affordable and easy-to-use, really anyone can participate," says Mike Koenigs, co-creator of the Internet Infomercial Toolkit, a how-to guide for small businesses (http://www.infomercialtoolkit.com).

"For the first time ever, any online business owner--even the smallest information products marketer--can use video to present his or her products or services. The key is getting the messaging strategy right."

Internet Infomercials?

Koenigs and business partner Rocket Helstrom turned to the TV infomercial industry for a successful message model. They interviewed several top producers, distilled their formulas and adapted them to the Internet.

“The direct-response infomercial is the best archetype for Internet marketing video—much more so than the brand ad commercial,” says Helstrom.

“The Web is arguably the most efficient direct-response sales medium ever created. What’s worked for years on TV now works online. Now, a business can leverage the power of the infomercial to present its product online for less than $1,000.”

Coming Soon to Any Screen Near You

The lines between channels are blurring as well. We’re seeing it now with Internet downloads of yesterday’s prime time TV “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives” episodes.

Soon, consumers will be accessing all forms of Web video—entertainment, news and infomercials—through all their available screens, whether they’re in their living rooms, home offices or on the street.

Early-adopting businesses will be poised to distribute their infomercials not just to computers but to any screen their target market chooses, from home entertainment TVs to cell phone displays.

###

Contact Mike Koenigs and Rocket Helstrom for more insights about Internet infomercials.
